Instead of just disappearing into silence I wanted to let you know that I’m taking a brief pause from writing while I direct the expansion of my clinic. Thrive Downtown Counselling Centre has been operating since 2014, more recently establishing itself as a destination centre where trauma-experts offer psychedelic integration counselling.
This relaunch means the creation of eccentric and rich spaces, mirroring the spirit of plant medicine and holistic healing (Jungle Room seen below). We have always bent the conventions of counselling and we don’t plan on stopping any time soon.
While sometimes it would be great if the day had more than 24 hours, I haven’t found a hack for that yet. I’ll need to take some time to help supervise my growing team and make sure that everyone knows how to operate the radiators because it’s May and it’s still very cold in Vancouver, Canada.
In the meantime, you may wish to checkout a chat I had with Rav Arora—journalist and Substack author—who asked a lot of questions about psychedelic medicine, the Thrive clinic and my origins in all this. You can listen on Spotify or the Callin platform.
If you’d like to connect with any member of our team for counselling or psychedelic integration work we offer in-person or web-based work (useful for our friends over the border). You can book free chats with any member of the team here.
Thanks everyone, catch you on the other side.
Carson is the author of the five paragraphs above and creator of the Jungle Room GIF. While this may not be his most striking work, it is an important piece of a bigger picture.
